About Donna McGee & Green Lotus Studios
In 1979, I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Elementary Education and worked for Central Wyoming Disabilities & Wyoming Adult Disabilities for 4 years as an Educator/ Workshop Trainer for special needs adults.
I was first introduced to Herbal Medicine by my Grandmother and I have very fond memories of making soap with my Father; being a student of Yoga for many years the green of the earth started to call me. In 1982, I moved to Florida, I took my first herbalist course from Clayton College by mail and just fell in love. My children were raised on Herbal Medicine and my daughter uses some of the remedies I taught her as a child . After much reading of Gladstar, I enrolled in her online courses and found her style of teaching a breath of fresh air but still wanted a more clinical study because I wanted to teach others how to heal themselves. In 1989, I enrolled in The School of Botanical Medicine in Orlando FL. This comprehensive herbal studies program was almost 3 years long at that time, I went on to take two graduate level clinical courses there as well. I have also studied intensively with other respected herbalists and continue my studies actively to be able to share my knowledge of the body and its amazing knowledge to heal itself .

As an avid paper crafter, I’ve been drawn to scrapbooking and card making for over 20 years. I love working with pattern papers, glitter, stamps and ink. I create scrapbook pages to tell the story of my life. I send handmade cards to my friends, my family and most often to my four godchildren. I hope that they can feel the love and care that goes into crafting each one. Over the past year I have expanded my creative endeavors by taking classes here at Green Lotus. I especially enjoy creating cold process soap. Tracy was also our September 2013 Teacher of the Month!

My interest in organic, holistic skin care began a few years ago. I have since gained my Florida License as a skin care specialist/esthetician. I enjoy experimenting with natural skin care formulas and helping others look their best by creating their own daily skin care routine. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Education (UNF) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History (Smith College). I have taken many inspiring classes at Green Lotus and I am honored to be part of Donna’s studio. I also provide organic skin care treatments using Dr. Hauschka products at Ananda Kula Wellness Studio.

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. In 2001 moved to Jacksonville. I am now going to college to earn a degree in Austrian Economics and a minor in Business Management. At the age of 16 I started owning bees and attending classes from the top apiaries in Northeast Florida area. In 2012 I started my own business named "Stubbees" after hearing about the dangers of CCD (Colony Collapse Disorder) and how it affects our bee colonies also our food supply as well. Through Stubbees a portion of our profits will go to funding research to help see how we can stop the threats facing our honeybees today. As a active member of the Northeast Florida Beekeepers Association and a active voice for pro beekeeping legislation I am glad to come on board and educate along side with Green Lotus Studios!

I began raising rabbits and chickens as a way of ensuring the safety and quality of my food sources. My interests include organic and hydroponic gardening, permaculture, and heritage breed livestock. I raise only heritage breed rabbits and chickens as a way to ensure the diversity and health of our food chain. I garden organically, hydroponically and with an permaculture emphasis as a means of ensuring the maximum output of produce on a small, residential lot. I enjoy sharing these passions with others.

I was born in Manhatten, NY and I grew up in Silver Spring, MD. I remember coming down to Jacksonville to visit my grandparents when I was a tiny one and then we moved here to help them out. I have always loved Jacksonville. I love the weather, the beach, the people and the sunsets! I married my High School sweetheart and we have 3 dogs, 4 children and 1 amazing grandson. I am a Montessori trained teacher and I love to teach. My mom taught me to crochet when I was young. I liked it ok but I didn't stick with it. When I became a mom I picked it back up and found that I really enjoyed the creative outlet. Oh. And remind me to get a pic of me instead of just the stuff you can make in my classes here :)
